Scholarship

The mission of the Alliance Française is the promotion of French language and culture. The Alliance Française de la Péninsule de Monterey encourages the study of French language and culture by awarding scholarships to teachers and students of the French language who live in or teach in Monterey County and who are members of our Alliance chapter. 

Examples of student or teacher scholarship requests include:

  • A teacher who would like to purchase instructional materials for his/her French classes.

  • A teacher or student who would like to study French language and culture in France, a francophone country, or in the United States.

  • A teacher leading a group towards the goals of learning the French language and culture.

  • An aide/assistant/volunteer, within an approved organization, in a francophone country.

  • Costs associated with a teacher or student attending an intensive or immersive French language program.

Application letters must be written in French, with assistance, if needed. Student application letters must include the name of the teacher, school or university, a detailed description of the proposed project, and should not exceed one page. Teacher application letters must include a detailed description of the proposed project and should not exceed one page. The application letter should be sent to: alliancefrancaisemonterey@gmail.com. The deadline for submission is March 1.
